Community is EVERYTHING
Yes! ✨️
Love these inspiring words by Dianna Cohen, founder of Crown Affair.
Community is EVERYTHING.
It's actually how many small businesses survive!
AS A SHOPPER
Restaurants, fitness studios, gift boutiques, jewelry stores, resale shops, toy stores, local artist galleries and so many more small businesses depend on in-person support. Next time you think "I'll just order this on Amazon", don't. Actually go to your own city / town's shopping district and look for what you need (or call ahead first to save time). Talk to the business owners. Get on their newsletter list. Tell your friends. Leave a review online. This all generates traction AND nourishes relationships!
Same goes for the online small business community -- support them over the "big guys". Tell your friends, leave a review, share the page or your praise on IG / Facebook / Tiktok, etc. A few minutes out of your life to give praise on Google adds up -- good words travel fast!
AS AN OWNER
When it comes to owning a small business, networking is key. Collab with other artisans or entrepreneurs for extra exposure. Talk your shoppers! Listen for feedback, what you're doing well, what they need, places where you can improve, etc. ENGAGE. This is where you'll find all of the info you need!
And, whether your biz is online, in-person or both, make it a destination! Offer classes, tips / freebies, support (online group with a like-minded community), host events / pop-ups...the list is endless!
