This Must Be The Place

Earth is our Mother, our home, our source of life, shelter, food, enjoyment and well-being – EVERYTHING.

Without this incredible planet in which we live, we couldn't be the humans that we are: the makers, the healers, the artists, the explorers, the radicals, the dreamers...

Let's celebrate Earth Day every day by cleaning up our acts wherever we can – less packaging, less meat, less waste, more innovative and conscious design, less disposable fashion, more nourishment AND more time outdoors.

Below are links to some of my fave small businesses that are environmentally-conscious, innovative and brands that you should be following!

AVERY LEE DESIGN
Local to the Boulder area, Avery creates beautiful, striking and simplistic contemporary jewelry with American-mined stones, as well as fair-mined and reclaimed metals.

BARUKAS NUTS
These DELISH nuts are soooo nutritious, super delicious, full of antioxidants and micronutrients, high in protein and have 25% less calories than other nuts! Save 20% today only by using the code EARTHDAY20 when checking out.

CEDAR & HYDE (C&H HOME TOO!)
This gorge “mercantile” boutique in Boulder features clothing, accessories, footwear, home and body goods that are carefully chosen AND leave little impact on our Earth.

COMMON THREADS
One of THE spots to purchase second-hand wares in Boulder and Denver… They always have a lovely selection of gently-used designer goods and “big box” brands too. Owned by two women (sisters), they are always generous in giving back to the community and their employees. (I should know – I managed the Boulder location for almost 8 years!)

JONES + CO
A contemporary lifestyle brand and shop in Boulder where handcrafted accessories mix with stylish, environmentally-friendly wares. They also have home goods and body care too!

KHUS + KHUS
I’ve become quite obsessed with this body care line in the last few years, thanks to HAVEN who carries them. :) Not only do they have sexy design, but they are made of carefully and expertly blended botanicals and the best-of-the-best (unique) ingredients. Made in Denver too! Use code Earthday2022 today only to receive 30% off one item.

LUXURY GARAGE SALE
Located in my old skool stomping grounds of Chicago, this designer consignment biz has all the luxe goods you need. I see their brick-and-mortar is sadly, closed, but their online location lives on.

MOKSHA CHOCOLATE
If you only know a little about me, you’ll probably know that I love dark chocolate. It’s a serious thing – I mean, it’s healthy, right? Definitely healthy when coming from Moksha! They are a bean-to-bar artisan chocolate brand with their own fair trade farm in Peru. All bars are vegan and they often get experimental with limited edition bars that you don’t want to snooze on!

MOON BATH
I love Moon Bath. They’re known for their botanical bath teas that coordinate with phases of the moons, but I’m completely in love with their body oil, shimmer spray and they published a book last year filled with bathing rituals! It’s seriously gorgeous.

MOSS DESIGNER CONSIGNMENT
There must be a lot of money in Austin because this consignment boutique’s shop is INCREDIBLE. Not only do they have gorgeous photos (check out their site and social – it’s absolutely drool-worthy!!), but they have an insane selection of designer goods. They also have a second location in San Antonio AND a sister shop that’s all designer vintage too!

ROWDY POPPY
The sweetest little floral biz in the heart of Denver. Rowdy is special to me because they actually GROW the majority of the flowers they sell! (I’ve seen it first-hand and it’s amazing.) They also sell seeds (which I just ordered from for my garden) and they offer local flower subscriptions, as well as CSA-type offerings. Yes, please!

SHEENA MARSHALL JEWELRY
The sweet simplicity of Sheena’s designs are top-notch. Minimalism at its finest! All pieces are crafted in Denver using sustainably-sourced metals – perfect for layering! And, I see she’s now getting into fine jewelry…excited for her talents to hit further markets.

SOUL CROWN CO.
Launched last year by one of my closest friends, Soul Crown Co features up-leveled jewelry and jewelry highlighting women-owned brands who specialize in small-batch production and sustainable materials.

SWEEP
This local-to-Boulder-and-Denver salon specializes in balayage (hair painting) and clean hair products. The salon spaces are stunning, airy and have such a friendly vibe!

WONDER
My fave juice and smoothie spot in Denver and Boulder! Organic, cold-pressed juices and nut milks, nourishing snacks and a sweet spot to meet a friend or “work” for a few hours. I’ve adored their logo and bottle design since the beginning AND if you bring back your used bottle, you receive $1 off your next juice! Love it.

YOUNG IN THE MOUNTAINS
Hello fabuousness. Another jewelry brand that has paved the path to using only American-mined stones, YITM’s aesthetic is incredibly distinct and yummy. All materials are responsibly sourced and many of their pieces are made-to-order, so less of an impact with excess creations.

Thank you for reading! I hope you find a new-to-you sustainably-minded biz that you absolutely fall in love with!
