DIY Yard Arrangements
All you need are a small variety of vases and a little bit of creativity to create these simple arrangements! Flowers add nature to the interior of your home, office or work place AND just make people happier!
The vases I have are either artisan-made, found at second-hand shops over the years or were gifted to me. Look for varying opening sizes as it's nice to have a few that are wide to hold a bunch of flowers and some that are slim will only hold a few (or a single bloom).
I found all of these flowers in my yard, except for the dried blooms -- the XL protea, the "billy balls" and the last arrangement featured. The video below these descriptions is from my IG account!
THE SHOW-STOPPER
A real eye-catcher all by itself. I like to use a vase with a slim opening for this. Sunflowers work well (they're in season!) and this giant protea was a gift almost 5 years ago -- look how beautifully it dried!
THE TALL TRIO
Cut three long stems and stick into a slim vase! Be sure the vase is tall enough to support the longer stems.
THE BITTY BB
I love these small vases because just a few small, simple blooms look stunning! For this one, I used a trio of dried "billy balls" (craspedia).
THE MISH-MOSH
Exactly that -- a mixture of flowers placed into a vase with a wider opening. Messy can sometimes look lovely!
THE TALL SINGLE
I love a good statement and this vase is perfect for that. A super slim opening at the top allows for very minimal flowers (usually a single stem) and I just adore the sweet curved shape!
THE UNRULY BUNCH
Similar to the mish-mosh -- just grab a few funky stems and make it look pretty! This one reminds me of a vine and it's lasted about 3-weeks so far with no sign of wilting.
THE ITSY BITSY
I keep a handful of tiny bud vases on hand for miscellaneous clippings or broken stems. They're so cute!
THE EVERLASTING
I pick up dried blooms at least once a year from a local flower shop and use them for these "everlasting" arrangements. I also use them to add onto gift-wrapping presentations! Adds nice texture and a feminine element.
